What happened in 2011:

We had Joseph's baby blessing in March 2011

We went swimming a lot! We went most of the time with our good friends, the Pfaff's.

We bought a house that needed a LOT of work. We gutted, ripped, tore out everything. We then painted and repaired and tiled and put all new cabinetry in. I married a very talented man!

here are some of the after shots! Didn't Connor do a great job! It was a lot of work and made for a long summer but we did it! We even had to move in before we had a cabinets, which means we had to eat out a lot. We are settled now and loving it here, especially because my sister & her husband and 6 kids moved in around the corner.

The boys started 1st grade & 2nd grade at there new school. Cheyenne would get her backpack on and go wave to the boys as they would get on the bus, wishing she could go with them. She asks all the time when she will be 5 so she can go to school.

We ended the year with another great Christmas. A Wii for the boys, a drum musical instrument set for Joseph and dishes & doll house for Cheyenne. We spent Christmas Eve exchanging homemade gifts with Connor's family & then spent Christmas day with my family. We went to church with my parents and listened to my mom give a wonderful talk.

I read Where the Red Fern Grows with the boys this past summer and so my parents gave them coon skin hats for Christmas. They wore them all day and now have them hanging on a push pin in there rooms by there beds.
I am so grateful for the amazing year we have had. I don't have pictures of it yet, but Ivan was also baptized in December. I am such a lucky mom to have 4 great kids and an amazing husband. I cannot wait to see what the upcoming year will bring.

A busy life

I guess I am not as good at keeping up with this blog as I thought I would be. My 4th child has kept me busier than I thought. Since the last time I posted I have had another child. He does bring me so much joy, and a little extra work to go with it. First I guess I should start with Christmas:

Two days after Christmas, January 27, 2011 at 5am I had Joseph Adam Langston. I was so worried I was going to miss Christmas with my family. I was so glad he came after Christmas. He is such a beautiful boy, and because I have to wonderfully talented photographers in my life, I am able to post some very cute pictures of him.

1st day of school

As much as I was excited to get back on a schedule, it was still hard to send the boys off to school today. Randall did great. I had to make him come back and give me a hug goodbye when I dropped him off. They were outside on the playground still and he wanted to go play. Ivan was a little more cautious. He stayed holding my hand until it was time to go in the classroom. He didn't cry, I did, but he was strong. It is hard not to be the one protecting my boys from the world. Below are the pictures we took this morning before I took them to school.

Cheyenne wanted her picture taken too.

Articles of Faith

Ivan and Randall, over the past 18 months have memorized all 13 articles of faith. Randall passed his 13 off the day before his 5th birthday in July and Ivan is 6 years old. We told them when they passed them off we would buy them each there own pair of roller blades, which they were so excited for. They have only been able to use them once or twice because it is too hot outside right now. I am sure we will be outside roller blading all fall and winter. When we did Ivan's video the batteries on the camera died right before he finished so we had to do his 13th article of faith on a seperate video taping.

Cheyenne even learned a few from listening to the boys.

May/June news

My sweet Randall boy had surgery at the beginning of May. He was very brave and everything went great. He was so excited to have it because he knew that he wouldn't have to wear an eye patch anymore. He also had no idea what surgery was.
we also found out in May that I am expecting #4! My due date is December 31st. I should find out in July what I will be having.

March

we(my mom, sister Jessie and me) went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in New York,

and Lion King! Lion King was my favorite.

The Statue of Liberty was the highlight of the trip. What an amazing place!

And we were there for St Patricks day with some crazies!
A few other highlights were, Frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's, the Empire state building, shopping and bargaining in China town (I got the cutest purse), a yummy dinner in Little Italy, and the most fun spending time with my mom and sister.

Starting In February

We moved in with Connor's sister, Wendi, in February. She is a saint to take us all in! There are 3 adults and 7 kids in her house, and so far everything has gone well, Wendi has not kicked us out yet.
