1st day of school

As much as I was excited to get back on a schedule, it was still hard to send the boys off to school today. Randall did great. I had to make him come back and give me a hug goodbye when I dropped him off. They were outside on the playground still and he wanted to go play. Ivan was a little more cautious. He stayed holding my hand until it was time to go in the classroom. He didn't cry, I did, but he was strong. It is hard not to be the one protecting my boys from the world. Below are the pictures we took this morning before I took them to school.

Cheyenne wanted her picture taken too.

Articles of Faith

Ivan and Randall, over the past 18 months have memorized all 13 articles of faith. Randall passed his 13 off the day before his 5th birthday in July and Ivan is 6 years old. We told them when they passed them off we would buy them each there own pair of roller blades, which they were so excited for. They have only been able to use them once or twice because it is too hot outside right now. I am sure we will be outside roller blading all fall and winter. When we did Ivan's video the batteries on the camera died right before he finished so we had to do his 13th article of faith on a seperate video taping.

Cheyenne even learned a few from listening to the boys.

May/June news

My sweet Randall boy had surgery at the beginning of May. He was very brave and everything went great. He was so excited to have it because he knew that he wouldn't have to wear an eye patch anymore. He also had no idea what surgery was.
we also found out in May that I am expecting #4! My due date is December 31st. I should find out in July what I will be having.

March

we(my mom, sister Jessie and me) went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in New York,

and Lion King! Lion King was my favorite.

The Statue of Liberty was the highlight of the trip. What an amazing place!

And we were there for St Patricks day with some crazies!
A few other highlights were, Frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's, the Empire state building, shopping and bargaining in China town (I got the cutest purse), a yummy dinner in Little Italy, and the most fun spending time with my mom and sister.

Starting In February

We moved in with Connor's sister, Wendi, in February. She is a saint to take us all in! There are 3 adults and 7 kids in her house, and so far everything has gone well, Wendi has not kicked us out yet.

lesson learned, don't go in the chicken coop.

I went for a run the other morning and when I came back I let the chickens out of there coop before I went in. Later that morning while Ivan was at school, Randall asked me if he could go out back and play. I of course said yes! I was in the house with Cheyenne and trying to clean. After a few minutes of Randall being out, I looked out the window to check on him. I didn't see him but noticed the chicken coop shut. I went to the back door and yelled for Randall to keep the chicken door open. He then yelled back I can't. It took me a minute to realize why, but when I did, being the good mom I am, instead of running to his aid I had to run in and get my camera first. There is a gate latch on the outside of the coop, and since the chicken wire holes are too small to fit even a little had through, he was stuck inside. Lucky for him it was only a few minutes. The second picture is of him wiping his tears. After I got the pictures of him in there, I let him out and gave him the hugs he needed. He has not been in the chicken coop since! I think his lesson has been learned. I just want to know why he closed the door behind him.
